Changing state

A group activity for KS3 changes of state. The resource includes five cards each with a change of state and a set of keywords. Print enough to give each pair of students a card.

Their task is to use particle theory to explain the change of state on their card. They should aim to use all of the keywords in their explanation. They could present their explanation as a dialogue, a poem, a mini-play etc.

Students can peer assess the presentations and suggest how they could be improved. To increase the challenge of the task give students fewer keywords.
