Rocks of Yellowstone

An activity using images to identify the different characteristics of the geology of Yellowstone Park. Students watch an introductory video clip to develop observation skills and their use of geographical vocabulary. They should then analyse an image of one of the rock types found in Yellowstone and write a detailed description of it. Finally students complete a card sort activity matching descriptions of different rock types to their images as a way of assessing their observation skills.
