I have over twenty years experience in English teaching in the Midlands, mostly in post-16, although I have also worked in schools. Language is my specialism.
As a teacher from a working-class background, I have a particular interest in barriers to access and am currently working in FE, teaching GCSE English Language.
I am also pursuing doctoral research, looking at young people's attitudes to diversity in reading, particularly in the context of the GCSE English curriculum.
