I was one of the original teachit contributors, with my first resource published in 1999. Much has changed since then, of course, but the same principles remain at the core: allowing creative practitioners to share high quality resources and ideas, and to benefit from others doing the same.

After spending 25 years teaching English and media studies in comprehensive, grammar and independent schools, I am now Head of a specialist education provision in Essex, Red Balloon of the Air. English is at the heart of our negotiated curriculum - there aren't many of our students' interests that don't dovetail with reading, writing and spoken English skills, and it's great to see all students (re-)engage with the subject.
